Catch up time

I am trying to blog more often so that I don't have to try and remember everything all at once to keep caught up but it has been a crazy busy couple of weeks. So I will try to get everything in now.

Since my last post we have had a pretty uneventful couple of weeks just busy with the everyday sort of things. We are finally finished with softball for now. We may do Fall Ball but that depends on if any of the teams actually follow through and do it. It makes for a long season for some of the coaches because the also have All-Stars. We don't do All-Stars due to scheduling restrictions and I am glad. But we had a great season this year. Katelyn and Jessica both played on teams that did very well and ended up with 1st and 2nd place trophies. I am so proud of them, they both played really hard and had a good time.

Summer is still having a hard time being pregnant. She is uncomfortable most of the time and is exhausted all of the time. I feel bad for her because this being her first baby and all I don't think that she expected it to be quite like this. She was sick alot at the beginning and in this age of internet and books I feel there is to much information out there that makes expectant mothers nervous about everything. Every new thing that happens sends her into a tailspin and I think that she just didn't expect all of this. I was one of those lucky women who had relatively easy pregnancies so it is hard for me to relate sometimes to what she is feeling. Either way I am very excited for my granddaughter to be here. I can't wait to hold her and love on her. I am sure that I will spoil her rotten.

I am excited that Danny (sorry, just can't call you Dan)and Lissa are coming for a visit the end of this month. I haven't seen Camden since he was just a tiny baby, and I have never gotten to see Jace except for in pictures. Danny is organizing a Memorial Golf Tournament to take place while he is here. Danny loves to golf (his chosen profession) and he thought that it would be a good way to get everyone together for a fun activity while they are here. Steven and Alex want to participate since they both like to golf. I am not a golfer, but I may go just so that I can see everyone. I really love Danny's family. I guess that I should explain why a Memorial Golf tournament. It is to remember our families Angels in Heaven. Bud (Danny's dad), Laura (Danny's sister) Stefanie and Sara (Bud and Kris' little baby). I am glad that he wants to do something to remember them. They should be here the end of the week. I can't wait.

So I think that is everything for now. I will try to post more later and I am hoping that I can get some pictures to post of the winning teams here shortly. So for now, I will sign off, Ciao!!!!

Good cry!!

Okay, so you know how sometimes you just need to have a good cry. Well I feel that way quite often so the other night when Alex texted me and ask me if I wanted to go to the movie My Sister's Keeper I jumped at the chance. I cried and cried and cried until I thought that I couldn't cry anymore and then I cried again. If you haven' t seen this movie, I would definitely recommend it but be prepared. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone that hasn't seen this movie so I won't go into detail but throughout the movie I thought about my own sister that died. I also thought about my daughter that died. I could definitely relate to this story. I know how hard it is to lose your child and I also know how hard it is to see some one that you love go through a terminal disease and pass away because of it. It really makes you appreciate life and what you have.

SO this is my movie recommendation for this year (I hate to go to the movies, weird phobia about crowed places). But I have to say that this will be a movie that I will own when it comes out on DVD. That's it for now, ciao!!

The day finally arrived, and I was so nervous and excited at the same time. What better time to have family over for a BBQ than the 4th of July. Let me start by saying that since we have moved to Tooele we have made it a tradition to go to the parade first thing in the morning and then the park afterwards for entertainment and food. The company that I work for usually has a float in the parade and all employees and their families are invited to participate and either walk with or ride on the float. Well this year, we had a disaster and the float was ruined two days before the parade by a sudden rain storm. So instead of the kids riding on the float we all watched from the sidelines.

So, this year I decided to skip the festivities at the park so that I could get ready for family coming over. I invited my sister Shauna and her family out for a BBQ and we also had the pleasure of having Steven's daughter Alexis and her family out as well. I had a lot of things to do to get ready since I am a procrastinator and always leave things until the last minute. But I let Katelyn and Jessica and Jessica's friend Shelby go down to the park and hang out while I went to the store and started making the stuff for dinner.

We had told everyone that we would eat around 4 o'clock knowing that people run late and that we should be able to really eat about 5. It worked out great. As I mentioned my sister came out with her husband David and her kids Audrey and Brandon. Her oldest son, Nathan didn't come because he already had plans with his boyfriends family. In addition to their family, we invited Candace (Alexis' Mom) and her boyfriend Will. They came over with Alexis, Deaja and Mariah. In case you didn't know, Alexis is Steven's daughter and Deaja is her little sister. Mariah is the daughter of Will's roomate and does alot of things with them. She is a doll and such a little mother. She took care of Deaja the whole time that they were here.

We had such a good time visiting and sharing stories. I was so excited to finally get to meet Lexi and I hope that we will be able to spend more time with her in the future. I like Candace too. She is a good Mom and really works hard to take care of her girls. I look forward to many more family events with everyone.
